two for the price of one!

1. What does their bedroom look like?

space stations/ships don't leave a lot of room for messiness, so i imagine she's neater than most (certainly neater than i am), more due to necessity than anything else. that said, she's also something of a pack rat; there's a lot of personal items tucked away in easy to access drawers and cabinets so she can grab and go if she needs to

2. Do they have any daily rituals?

3. Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?

4. What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?

5. Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)

6. Eating habits and sample daily menu

7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time

8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging

candy, liquor, and liquor infused candy or candy infused liquor.

9. Makeup?

it's not really practical in her line of work (engineering, in case i don't get to that section), but she'll wear lip gloss and mascara in her day-to-day. when things allow her to get fancier, she'll dabble in eyeshadow and blush, but she's not terribly sure she's wearing it correctly when she puts it on.

10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?

for a long time after escaping lv-426 she would sleep on the floor, tucked against the wall, and since arriving on gateway/earth she's made sure to look for every possible exit to and hiding place within a room. she's also very aware of movement; say someone moves from one side of her to the other behind her, she'll be aware of it, or at least be aware of the movement based on what she hears or what she can see in her peripheral. also, nightmares. she's aware of them, or at least aware that people who haven't lived through the kind of trauma she has don't react like this to certain things, but a lot of those habits are why she's still alive (in this universe, anyway) so ripley & co have never felt particularly inclined to curb them and she's never felt particularly inclined to change them.

11. Intellectual pursuits?

12. Favorite book genre?

13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?

14. Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)

15. Biggest and smallest short term goal?

16. Biggest and smallest long term goal?

17. Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress

she prefers to wear outfits that are easy to move in, comfortable, and won't get caught on hooks or jagged edges if she has to hide or run in an enclosed space. typically this means well-fitting leggings, jeans, sweaters, and jackets, or if she's working jumpsuits, and sneakers or boots. her hair typically hangs loose, unless she's working, and then she pulls it into a braid or a bun so it won't get caught in any machinery.

18. Favorite beverage?

hot chocolate.

19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?

it's easier to explain what she tries not to think about, and that's her father with the facehugger attached to his face and then everyone around her dying.

20. Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?

21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?

22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?

a map, or some very disturbing doodles.

23. How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?

24. Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all?

25. How do they see themselves 5 years from today?

alive, hopefully.

26. Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?

27. What is their biggest regret?

28. Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?

29. Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?)

30. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)

31. Most prized possession?

32. Thoughts on material possessions in general?

33. Concept of home and family?

in spite of what she's lived through and the mistrust she's developed for authority, she tends to form attachments very quickly.

34. Thoughts on privacy? (Are they a private person, or are they prone to ‘TMI’?)

35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?

36. What makes them feel guilty?

37. Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making?

38. Would they consider themselves a Type A or Type B personality?

39. What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?

40. Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither?

41. How misanthropic are they?

42. Hobbies?

43. How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?

44. Religion?

45. Superstitions or views on the occult?

46. Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?

47. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?

48. How do they express love?

49. If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?

50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?

---

1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

5'7, on the slim side.

2. How old is she?

23.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?

she tends to hunch or curl herself in when sitting; while standing her posture is fairly straight but she still tends to make herself smaller or hold herself back. this isn't really a conscious thing and she'd probably be annoyed with herself if someone pointed it out, but it feels too second nature for her to make an effort to change it.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

she's fairly fit but it's not due to any training outside of what's necessary for her to travel in space; part of it could be due to her not having a terribly good appetite. she'll often forget to eat or put it off until she has to/someone makes her aware that she hasn't eaten; this is due to her having to time her meals to when she knew the xenomorphs wouldn't be around.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

her movements can generally be considered fluid, but when nervous or unsure they tend to be jerky and tense. once she's sure of where she's going or of a layout of any given room or building, she's generally more comfortable.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?

very pretty, but not really aware of it, which has less to do with how she perceives her looks and more to do with her being aware of how fucked up she is.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

fair-skinned, likely a few scars gained from her time on lv-426 but nothing so noticeable that you'd be aware of it right away. (dietrich makes a point of saying "physically she's okay"; i figure if there was anything more serious there would have been mention of it.)

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.

long, thick, mostly straight, and dark blonde (in spite of what icons may or may not suggest, especially regarding hair color). when working she'll tie it back in a braid or a bun; she's worn it several lengths over the years since being rescued but she tends to prefer it long.

9. What color are her eyes?

blue.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

11. What are her chief tension centers?

shoulders and upper back.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?

casual/utilitarian; she errs on the side of practical but is fairly more feminine in her style of dress than ripley.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?

she makes a point of them fitting well; she wants to be able to move well and move quickly, and she doesn't want them to snag on anything.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?

the future seems to be fond of jumpsuits as work uniforms, but that's pretty much the only difference.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

boyshorts or bikini-cut, in neutral colors, pink, or black.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?

softly and evenly; she doesn't usually talk unless she has something important to say. when with friends or family she speaks more easily, but she still tends to stay quiet.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?

mostly english, but since the aliens novelization makes mention of ripley knowing japanese i figure some degree of fluency has to be taught in that as well if you're a weyland-yutani employee (or the offspring of one). i imagine she knows enough japanese to be conversational and possibly some other languages as well, but that's the only language that's mentioned specifically.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

only if she needs to.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?

she doesn't do much speaking in general, so it's safe to say that she puts a lot of thought into what she does say. usually if someone is saying something better than she thinks she can, she'll let them talk; she'll speak up if she knows she has something important to contribute.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

fairly articulate given the fact that her schooling and social skills were interrupted and are probably a bit stunted; fear will change this ( ex: her biting hicks when he tried to catch her, trying to run away from the marines a few times wow i'm taking a lot from deleted scenes that weren't even included in the director's cut ).

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?

thinks on her feet.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?

navigation, specifically through space.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?

introvert.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?

react.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?

flight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?

ptsd to some degree.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?

14. What does she fear?

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

she had one older brother named timmy. aside from the deleted scene, which shows them bickering and him attempting to comfort her, the only other section of the movie that suggests what their relationship was like was that he was the only one to call her by her real name. i'll need to reread the novelization to be sure of this, but based on these details i figure they were fairly close, or at least that he was protective of her. it's also mentioned that she was the smallest/youngest (or one of them) of the children living on lv-426, so she probably tagged along with him a lot. TL;DR: she tagged along and he didn't like it much, but he looked out for and loved his little sister; after he died she started hiding.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?

she has/had grandparents on earth; they're about as close as they could have expected to be. there were regular visits where they got to know each other, but she's mostly just grateful that they let her stay with ripley.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?

ripley, hicks, bishop.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

6. Does she have other close friends?

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?

even before the xenomorphs were discovered it was hinted that she had a bit of trouble with making friends (she was one of the youngest children on the colony and there were accusations of her cheating at monster maze/insinuations that she mainly stuck to her brother's side/was a quiet kid).

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
